Richland County Foundation to receive $23.5 million from Rupp Foundation
January 02, 2013
The Richland County Foundation, a nonprofit based out of Mansfield, Ohio, recently accepted a
$23.5 million gift from The Fran and Warren Rupp Foundation.
The Rupp Foundation was established in 1977 by a local pump manufacturing business founder, but was
recently being managed family members, according to The Mansfield News Journal. Brady Groves, the Richland County Foundation president, told the source that because the Rupp family members now live out of state, it has become more difficult to manage the family's foundation and they have decided to give a significant portion of its funds to the Richland foundatoin, which will continue to make grants to local nonprofits through donor-advised funds.
"Richland County Foundation is the largest private source of grants in Richland County and has the expertise to handle this gift as we handle each and every gift that comes to us … This gift is the single largest gift in Richland County Foundation's history," said Michael Bennett, chair of the board of trustees.
Individuals, programs and organizations that rely on fundraising to fuel sustainable operations might find nonprofit
fundraising software advantageous. The solutions can facilitate the process of identifying grant opportunities, generate reports that demonstrate current financial need and showcase previous achievements.
