News Corporation commits $20 million to Motion Picture & Television Fund campaign
July 23, 2012
The Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF) campaign recently announced that it received a $20 million gift from News Corporation toward its $350 million campaign goals. MPTF launched the fundraising initiative early in 2012 in anticipation of the organization's future funding needs as its members, entertainment industry insiders, reach retirement age and require additional resources and services.
"The MPTF is vital to the long-term health of the entertainment industry and provides crucial support to many valued members of the creative community," said Rupert Murdoch, chairman and CEO of News Corporation.
The fund provides a variety of important resources to its constituents, including monetary support to ensure their most basic needs are met as well as access to healthcare services if they are un- or underinsured. To sustain these services, MPTF relies on contributions from entertainment industry representatives and corporations.
Organizations that are working to reach ambitious fundraising goals might benefit from a solution such as
nonprofit accounting software. The program enables them to track incoming contributions and measure their success at various stages of the campaign so they can report back to stakeholders.
