New York Life recently made a $5 million donation to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum to help fund its Education Center, which will serve as a reminder for those who were alive to experience the tragedy and inform younger generations about the nation's loss. 

"There are already children too young to remember the compassion and public service that followed the attacks and the 9/11 Memorial Museum and its Education Center will be the global focal point for preserving this history," said Joe Daniels, the president of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. 

The education center will provide space for students to meet and discuss their experiences after visiting the Memorial & Museum, as well as areas for teacher training, orientations and seminars. It will include a room for viewing films, classroom space and an orientation lobby. 

"The Education Center will honor the nearly 3,000 victims who perished in the attacks by providing programs and tools to educate future generations," added chairman and CEO of New York Life Ted Mathas. Mathas adds that this project is largely in line with the focuses of the New York Life Foundation, which include childhood bereavement and educational enhancement opportunities. 

Organizations that are providing funds for multiple nonprofit programs might find it easier to manage their large-scale efforts with fundraising management programs that can account for funds as they are disbursed to recipients.
