Eleven more families announced they will participate in the Giving Pledge in September. Through this commitment, they will donate at least half of their wealth to foundations or charities of their choosing. In total, there are 92 families that have made the pledge, including Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett, who started the program in 2010.

New members include Jonathan Nelson, Jorge and Darlene Perez, Claire and Leonard Tow,  Albert Lee Ueltschi and Dr. Romesh and Kathleen Wadhwani. Manoj Bhargava, Jennifer and Dan Gilbert, Charles R. Bronfman, Patty Quillin and Reed Hastings, Peter Lewis and Betty and Gordon Moore also added their names to the list.

"We've said from the beginning that this is a long-term effort, so it's exciting to see continued progress over the last two years," said Bill Gates, pledge cofounder and co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. "This new group brings extensive business and philanthropic experience that will enrich the conversation about how to make philanthropy as impactful as possible."

As new members join this effort, donors can account for their giving with a nonprofit financial management solution that makes it easy to track funds as they are dispersed to organizations.
