The Getty Foundation, an organization supported by the Getty Trust, recently announced it will supply the Claremont Graduate University with $1.95 million to support the Getty Leadership Institute (GLI), a museum leadership program. The Getty Foundation aims to provide financial assistance to organizations that work to preserve visual arts and art history.

With the funds, the Claremont Graduate University will receive support for the Museum Leadership Institute (MMI) offerings throughout 2015, during which time it will re-envision its curriculum, programs and staff support to ensure the school continues to be a leader in the field. Through the MMI, museum leaders and directors can come together to ask questions, learn from others in the field and plan for future success.

"The Getty Foundation is pleased to provide this renewed support to CGU for the GLI. It is a crucial moment in the institute's history as it undergoes its own leadership transition and seeks new opportunities to meet the needs of the field going forward," said Deborah Marrow, director of the Getty Foundation.

As institutions require additional support to further their innovative approaches across fields, they may find they can appeal to philanthropic organizations with grant management software
