Trustee David Rubenstein recently announced a $10 million gift for the Duke Athletics Department that will be put toward objectives outlined in the Duke Forward fundraising campaign. The $3.25 billion effort is going to be divided across a number of institutions, including new facilities, operating funds and support for athletic department endowments.

This is the second $10 million gift the school recently received. The first was made in October by Dr. Steven and Rebecca Scott to help the university support activities and programs, such as ticketing, licensed apparel sales and training rooms.

"Within several weeks of one another, we received transformative gifts - previously unmatched in Duke Athletics history - that will certainly have an enduring and substantive impact on all Blue Devil student-athletes, coaches, alumni, fans and staff. We sincerely thank David for this unfailing commitment to Duke Athletics," said vice president and director of athletics Kevin White.
