January 14, 2013
CA Technologies recently pledged $1 million to the Sesame Workshop, the organization that produces Sesame Street programs, to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning.
"Through early STEM education, we strive to help children develop stronger critical thinking skills and a better understanding of how things work to help prepare them for future learning," said Sherrie Rollins Westin, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of the Sesame Workshop. "We're grateful to CA Technologies for supporting our work on STEM education and helping us to reach more children with this valuable curriculum."
This funding will provide support for the development of a free STEM hub that features interactive games, educational videos and hands-on tutorials through the Sesame Street website. These programs aim to make STEM learning creative and fun to encourage children and families to invest in these skills.
Andrew Wittman, chief marketing officer of CA Technologies said he hopes this encourages children to foster interests in STEM fields that might develop into education pursuits and careers down the road.
Organizations that are looking to raise funds through grant opportunities or local campaigns can use nonprofit financial management solutions to improve their chances of success. The software can help program leaders identify potential donors and send out applications with accurate accounting information.
