Businesses adopt the cloud to achieve growth
May 30, 2013
Construction companies are under pressure as today's economy makes the industry extremely competitive. This is why many firms are housing their project management tools in the cloud to lead to better collaboration and improved efficiency among the entire team. The benefits of cloud-based project management solutions are clear: giving firms an opportunity to streamline processes and open the lines of communication across between the office and job site.
Firms are using the cloud to grow their operations
As more construction firms turn to the cloud, a recent study conducted by Microsoft and 451 Research found firms are doing so not only to benefit from the cost savings created by using the virtual infrastructure, but also to supplement growth at the company. Fifty-two percent of the more than 1,500 respondents said they view the cloud as a tool that can be used to help their company with expansion efforts.
"Cloud is giving them the opportunity to grow business and realign the organization to new company strategies," Marco Limena, vice president of Microsoft's hosting and cloud service providers business, told CRN. "The benefits of cloud are introducing new products and getting them to market faster and supporting them."
Thinking strategically about how to use cloud technology to advance company goals will be key for construction companies wanting to compete more effectively in years to come.
