What are the biggest differences between Sage 50 Business Intelligence and the Connector Module?

the Connector Module delivers all the benefits found in Sage 50 Business Intelligence plus the following:

  • Access to all the database fields in Sage 50 Accounting
  • Create, modify and run reports on multiple Sage 50 Accounting companies
  • Connect to non-Sage 50 Accounting databases to create, modify, and run reports on Sage 50 Accounting and non-Sage 50 Accounting data

Can reports created using the Connector Module be viewed or modified with Sage 50 Business Intelligence?

In most cases, reports created using the Connector Module can be viewed or modified by using Sage 50 Business Intelligence. However, reports that are created on multiple Sage 50 Accounting companies or on non-Sage 50 Accounting databases can only be viewed or modified using the Connector module.

How much does Sage 50 Business Intelligence cost?

Sage 50 Business Intelligence starts at $150 per user and $300 for the Connector Module. Please contact a sales representative at 1-888-261-9610 for additional pricing info for additional user licenses.

  1. The renewal cost of Sage 50 Business Intelligence is around 60% of the first time cost.
  2. You are not required to match your Sage 50 Business Intelligence licenses with your Sage 50 Accounting licenses.
  3. The maximum number of Sage 50 Business Intelligence user licenses you could purchase equals the number of Sage 50 Accounting user licenses you own.

What reports are included with Sage 50 Business Intelligence?

Which versions and editions of Sage 50 Accounting is Sage 50 Business Intelligence compatible with?

Sage 50 Business Intelligence is available for Sage Simply Accounting 2010 (release C or higher), Sage Simply Accounting 2011, Sage Simply Accounting 2012, and Sage 50 Accounting 2013. It is not available in previous versions.

Sage 50 Business Intelligence is not available with Sage 50 Pro Accounting, Sage 50 First Step Accounting, Sage Simply Accounting Pro, or Sage Simply Accounting First Step. It is not available in Sage 50 and Sage Simply Accounting First Step or Pro.

How can I try Sage 50 Business Intelligence before purchasing?

There is a free 30-day trial version of Sage 50 Business Intelligence built into all compatible versions of Sage 50 Premium Accounting, Sage 50 Quantum Accounting and Sage 50 Accountant Edition. For information on how to use this trial, click here.

User Licenses

I am a Sage 50 Accounting customer with multiple users on Sage 50 Accounting, how many Sage 50 Business Intelligence user licenses should I purchase?

The user licensing scheme of Sage 50 Business Intelligence is designed to give you flexibility. In most cases, you are not required to match your Sage 50 Business Intelligence licenses with your Sage 50 Accounting licenses. This flexibility gives you the option to buy the number of Sage 50 Business Intelligence licenses that are applicable to your business needs.

I have Sage 50 Quantum Accounting with 10-user licenses. Do I have to purchase Sage 50 Business Intelligence for all 10 users?

You are not required to purchase Sage 50 Business Intelligence for all of your Sage 50 Accounting users. You can purchase as many user licenses as you want, up to 10 users.

I have Sage 50 Premium Accounting with 4-user licenses. Can I buy Sage 50 Business Intelligence for only 2 users?

You are not required to purchase Sage 50 Business Intelligence for all of your Sage 50 Accounting users. In this example, you have the option to purchase Sage 50 Business Intelligence for 1 or 4 users.

I have Sage 50 Quantum Accounting with 5-user licenses. Can I buy Sage 50 Business Intelligence for only 2 users?

Yes, you can purchase Sage 50 Business Intelligence for 2 users.

Can I have a mix of Sage 50 Business Intelligence and the Connector Module user licenses?

No, all users must be on Sage 50 Business Intelligence or all users must be on Sage 50 Business Intelligence Connector module.

Microsoft® Excel®

Does Sage 50 Business Intelligence work with Microsoft Excel 2003, 2007, and 2010?

Yes. Sage 50 Business Intelligence is compatible with Microsoft Excel 2003, 2007, and 2010. The Report Designer is only compatible with Microsoft Excel 2007 and 2010.

How is Sage 50 Business Intelligence different from Microsoft® Excel® and Sage 50 Accounting?

Sage 50 Business Intelligence is a comprehensive reporting program, that allows you to access all your business information in one centralized location. Microsoft Excel provides an easy-to-use interface and Sage 50 Accounting reporting gives you access to all your financial, sales, inventory, payroll and projects information. If you are a current Sage Business Care Silver or Gold subscriber, then you automatically have support coverage for Sage 50 Business Intelligence. If not, then you may subscribe to Sage Business Care when you purchase Sage 50 Business Intelligence.
